What is mesotherapy?
Mesotherapy is a nonsurgical, minimally invasive procedure in which a cocktail of hyaluronic acid, vitamins, minerals, nutrients, amino acids, and other nutritional substances is injected. This aims to nourish the skin, improve microcirculation and tone, create volume and reduce imperfections, while stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, which are essential for the natural elasticity of the skin..
The main ingredient in mesotherapy is hyaluronic acid. Its role is to create volume by filling in the gaps between collagen and elastin fibers. Hyaluronic acid is found naturally in the skin, but with age its amount decreases, and the result is sagging, withered skin with reduced hydration. Prolonged sun exposure, smoking, hormonal changes, menopause, genetic predisposition contribute to the reduction of hyaluronic acid.
What are the indications for mesotherapy?
Primarily fighting the signs of skin aging – reduced hydration, sagging skin, fine lines, pigmentation, swelling, dark circles around the eyes. Mesotherapy also finds its application in treating hair loss, stretch marks, skin prone to acne.
Why mesotherapy of the eye contour area?
Anatomically, the skin of the eyelids is extremely thin and delicate, prone to much easier wrinkles and swelling. Mesotherapy in this area smoothens the fine lines, improves tone, elasticity and hydration, has a lifting effect, reduces dark circles and pigmentation, and helps drain swelling and bags under the eyes.
Who is suitable for mesotherapy?
Due to its minimal invasiveness, the procedure is suitable for all ages and genders. Procedures can be started even in young people, with the aim of slowing down the signs of aging, reducing the effects of modern lifestyle - sleep deprivation, smoking, strong sun.
What is the procedure?
After a preliminary consultation to determine the needs, desires and expectations of the patient, the procedure itself is performed. All make-up and cosmetics are removed beforehand, and then an anesthetic cream is applied. After the patient stays with the anesthetic cream, a slight numbing of the skin is felt. This is followed by removal of anesthetic agent and disinfection of the skin.
Mesotherapy itself involves multiple injections of the active substances. During the procedure it is possible to feel a slight discomfort, which passes after a short time. After the injection, the skin is smeared with antibiotic cream.
Are there any side effects from the procedure?
Small pinhead hemorrhages at the injection sites are possible. Immediately after the procedure, the treated area is slightly swollen, but not painful.
When the effect of the procedure becomes noticeable?
Immediately after mesotherapy, the effect of smoothing the fine lines and toning the skin is visible. The final result of the procedure is observed on the 3rd - 4th day after the swelling subsides and the possible hemorrhages disappear.
How many procedures are performed?
It is individually for each patient, usually between 4 and 6 procedures are performed and repeated every few months, to once a year, for maximum effect.
When mesotherapy is not recommended?
Mesotherapy is not performed in the presence of active inflammation in the treated area, including herpes, in case of allergy to some of the drugs used, as well as in case of unrealistic expectations from mesotherapy.
